Converting a 57cm OTS to a WSM?
Converting a 57cm OTS to a WSM?
Does anyone know how to do this? Can you buy a section that fits straight in? Expensive? Will this work as well as a WSM? What is the meaning of life?
Cheers boys!

From memory (which has a habit of fading a bit nowdays) some of the 200 litre drums will more or less fit if you want to try to cobble up your own? Pretty sure there is a post on here somewhere about it?
I'm sure someone else with more info will be along soon.
Cheers, Wayne

YOU LEGEND. No jokes I have called pretty much every steel fab joint in Sydney to try and figure out how to make an extension and came up blank or was quoted millions. Get ready for the CowBQ....

Hey Cowtipper, HickoryHotbox is on the money with that link he posted. It's the one I was thinking of. Pity the build link has gone but it might be somewhere else if you google around?

If anyone is interested, here is the construction drawing:

also, back when the internet was a pup and I found that site, I copied the entire build into a pdf...if you want it, download it from here:

I've been thinking about doing something like this, though not quite on this scale.
Chris, you're a legend. Thanks for the file.
Cowtipper, thanks for posting this question.

Thanks Chris, we'd pretty much be rooted in BBQ land if it wasn't for you mate. I'm gonna build this, just need to get me a Mig or Stick welder. Does anyone know where to get drums around Sydney (preferably in the Shire area)?

Check Gumtree. I know there's a guy in Doonside who sells 220lt drums.cowtipper wrote:Thanks Chris, we'd pretty much be rooted in BBQ land if it wasn't for you mate. Go to those U-Brew joints...they have food grade drums.emberpak wrote:Check Gumtree.
