I have both the aldi spit and the skewers off eBay. Used a couple of times. Once with peri peri chicken thighs and once with s and p squid. Works great. Is there any way of stopping the charcoal burning? Seems a waste to just let it burn out. Lest with the weber I can shut the valves.

Maybe spread it out a bit and cover the top with foil?

Scoop them in to a coffee or paint tin and put lid on perhaps?
