FREE WEBER!

Post by Zorba »

Woohoo,

have managed to secure a 20 year old kettle for free. The only thing wrong with it is a dodgy leg, but she has a spare leg to fix it, just never did it. Also, it will need a decent clean.

has a relatively new (2 years) cover and a hinged grate.

will be picking it up tomorrow night so will post some pics of when i get it, then of after its cleaned up.

so this means that money that would have been used on getting the weber can now go on to the maverick

Yes, just pull the legs out and the kettle part will fit into the boot of any normal sized car.

But they are bigger in the flesh than they appear in pictures (well that was my impression when I got my first one).

You won't be able to lie the bottom and top flat next to each other in the boot of a 323 (I wouldn't think). Maybe take a towel so you can put one of the 2 on the back seat.

Take the legs off, and all the grates out the bowl, flip the lid upside down and put in the bowl, the grates in side the lid. And chuck the legs in where ever they fit. Got one into my little barina that way.

I once gave away my travel weber secret to hogsy, get some aluminum tube from metal land or similar.. Get it cut to 350 mm lengths x 3.
Get some tuner leg stub caps from bunnings and you got a shortie camping weber.
The compact is lower profile if boot rooms an issue
