I was just thinking about the retail trade such as shops that have massive online competition. Like music shops, now most people buy music via online methods, a big player in mind is iTunes.
I wanted to see if anyone still prefer the shops for the following:
Books (Dymocks, Borders)
Music CDs
Hire/rent DVD/Blu Rays (Civic, Blockbusters)
Just interested!
Myself:
Books - usually get them as gifts
Music - iTunes. Been years since I was in a music shop
DVD - local Blockbusters
Where do you buy - online or physical shop?
Re: Where do you buy - online or physical shop?
Books - straight to Booko, find the cheapest place and order
Music, like you just download, sometimes i buy a US itunes card if I can't find it in oz itunes
DVD, don't use em - my daughter supplies me with anything I may need - no names no pack drill
Motorcycle parts and accessories - always online - quicker cheaper and you don't have to dweal with a headscratching counter jockey who is determined to order the wrong thing
camping gear - almost always online and overseas
Kitchen accessories - ordered online from Victoria's basement, it was allegedly posted on the 4th still hasn't arrived, never ever again
Appliances - I like appliancesonline - better range, cheaper prices, far far better service than a certain well known bricks and mortar outfit that complains about imports and online shopping

I have a habit of checking eBay before buying anything. BBQ stuff I still buy mainly from shops but I don't have any strict rule about this. I could swing the other way quite easily!!

Oh, that's right, this is a barby forum.King Erik the 14th wrote:But what about buying bbqs and accessories ?
I've bought a smoker os and had to completely rip out the gas fittings and replace with oz. It probably still worked out slightly cheaper, just.
Electric needs to be converted to 240v
The rest would be pretty hard to get in economically IMHO.
I also prefer to buy off Chris Urbangriller where possible

Books - I buy from amazon.com they have cheap prices and cheap postage.
If I see a book on eBay, I double check with amazon.com
