I've just finished reading this thesis, a realy good read, this guy talks about how cooking (and of course the first form of cooking was BBQ!) provided our ancestors with a readily digestable food supply and that led to bigger brains and for most smarter thinking.

Common Sense is so rare these days it should be a Super Power!
it's the rebuttal I always use on vegetarians " if man had not taken to a high protein diet he'd have spent all his time foraging or farming and never had time to think."

Lost count a while back.....New shelves are happening so everything moving-----a chance to re-order and catalogue the last year or two! (and this is maybe a third of the library)

Scary thing is in the current jumble you probably know where everything is - get them up on shelves and you'll be hunting
My wife and I gave up counting our books years ago, it's easier to express in metres. We had to do that last year when we moved - 85 metres of books, although no where near as many on the single subject Chris has.
Six months into moving they are all back on shelves and sort of re-indexed but finding a specific one can be a challenge, working on it
Meters! ..... I like that! I did some rough math in my head and it seems roughly 74m is what I'm looking at!
Got heaps stacked on the floor to change out the bookcases, one side first, then the other...then yes, restacking into catagories is going to be a beach!
