No Electric BBQ section

Post by 12x7 »

Hey Davo! Why doesn't the forum have an electric bbq section?

Nobody has ever asked for one before, until now electric BBQs have mostly been shunned. I'm heading away for a week so I'll have a look at it when i come back.

I thought the opinion was if you're going to cook electric, you may as well cook inside the house

Cheers

Isn’t a pellet grill an electric bbq?

I would say no. The source of the fuel, heat and smoke is the wood pellets, the electricity only provides the fans and the ignitor.

I was thinking that the electric bbq scene has changed quite a bit. eg the infrared bbqs.

Also things like air fryers can be used outside as people have some pretty fancy outdoor areas nowadays.

Plus people still like to bbq in units / on balcony even if charcoal and gas is banned and there's now Q's to meet this demand.

OK, I've made up a new Electric section under BBQ types, if you have any issues of being able to use this forum, please let me know here. It's been some time since making up a new forum, almost forgot how to do it......

Cheers

The Weber Pulse, all electric BBQ grill.

For those who live in highrise apartment buildings or if the apartments have strict rules about BBQ types, these are ideal, but even if it's electric, I'd still be mindful about using it indoors, more set the fire alarms off.

https://www.weber.com/AU/en/electric/pu ... 10024.html

There's just one model now, the 2000 with double element, it appears that the single Element version is no longer available, Thermostat to easily set the right cooking temp. A friend of mine has one in his holiday unit and he reckons it's the duck's guts and is as good as a gas BBQ and clean-up a lot easier.

Current price $759 and there's a load of great reviews on these BBQs, many are surprised how they compare with the charcoal and Gas BBQs they used before.
