For all that may not know.
You can get Nasa to email you when the Space Station can be seen from your location.
Kids love the interaction,so do adults
And its free
No spam, no selling ,nothing but a small email giving you time and location.
http://spotthestation.nasa.gov/home.cfm
You can also view pictures from the station real time as well.
The site is great to play with

Re: Spot the Space station, emails from NASA
Is this being able to see it without binoculars/telescope?
Re: Spot the Space station, emails from NASA
Sure can lax, it's quite bright and if you watch for a couple of minutes visibly moving - 17.500 mph or thereabouts means not a long time horizon to horizon.
Google once had an add-on that merged this info with a clock, some experiment they tried, long gone.
Cheers

Thanks Titch.
Wish I'd seen this earlier...
My 5.5 y.o. niece (who lives with us) mentioned the space station when she came home from school the other day.
Now I just have to find a day when we can see it at sunset, and not some ridiculous hour (for her) like 4.30am...... by then she'll probably have forgotten about it!

Main go-to: Blue 57cm OTG
Fire restriction option: Black 57cm M/T butchered with a Weber gas conversion.
GMG DC for the lazy smoky cooks.
Weeknight special: Q200
Problem? What problem?
