I watched a few minutes of that BBQ show and even that was a waste of time.

Lot of hate towards this show, but reality is, at least it's something to do with bbq and better than most other dribble on TV. That's how I see it anyway.

Yeah my only issues has been comments along the lines of "you BBQ guys are a bit weird" .... Figured that was probably going to happen in my case anyway so who cares.

Are they allowed to low and slow, or do they put a time limit on things?

I think you need to realise that the majority of bbq in Australia and even in the US is done with gas. There'll always be enthusiasts like us that will use a vast range of fuels and equipment....but gas is the go to for the majority of the population.

Theres been a truckload of tv shows from America and elsewhere about bbqing and even though its a bit cheesy but its majority Australian style so far and highlights the type of equipment used.

Don't take the show too seriously...it's supposed to be entertainment for the punters out there.

Cheers

We had it on in the background the other night, and I wasn't too fussed whether I saw it or not, as I figured it may be too "mainstream" and watered down for the masses.

My 5 year old niece jumped up & screamed - "they have a Weber like yours" whilst pointing to the kettle that sat idly in the background.

That's when I paid attention & realised they were using a WeberQ, a Weber gasser (Genesis?) and also had an offset in the background.

Luckily I taped it, so I might give it a look in over the weekend.

Fire restriction option: Black 57cm M/T butchered with a Weber gas conversion.
GMG DC for the lazy smoky cooks.

I gave it a look on Plus7. It was alright, something good to kill the time, but nothing special. Just glad to see something other than gasser's getting air time.
