RIP Mountain Mick

Post by Davo »

I read this on Smokey's forum this afternoon that our member Mountain Mick (Mick Blake) Has passed away sometime today.

Don't have any details at this stage.

He was a very talented Cook and a valuable member here although we haven't seen much of him recently due to poor health and Travelling.

He will be sorely Missed on the forums and BBQ world.

RIP Mick....It's been swell knowing you.....

I had just spoken with Mick's wife Karin and she informed me that he had passed away in his sleep around 6.30am this morning of a severe heart attack.

I conveyed my condolences to Karin and their family as they try and come to terms with Mick's sudden passing.

My Condolences were also sent on behalf of the members of this forum who had known Mick since he'd been here since March 27, 2010 and had 1079 posts.

He had a very full life but suffered with illness for quite some time but at least Mick and Karen were able to do some travelling of this great land before he left this world.....they had lots of plans for more travel but alas....sadly it will not happen now.

RIP Mick......and good will to Karin and their family in their time of loss. Our Condolences to you all

Regards

That is bloody awful news and I'm having a beer and a toast for him at 8pm Melbourne Time (5pm WA), 7pm QLD, so at that time, please join me and raise as glass to a fallen mate.

I got a PM from Andrew (his nephew) to tell me and I also passed on our condolences. He was a real character and we will miss him.

Hi,
A quick not of great personal sadness (Mountain Mick) my uncle Mick Blake AKA Mountain Mick passed away this morning.
I just wanted to pass this on to the forum.

Oh man. My only exposure to Mick's work was his return to the forum in September where he had referenced his illness among some pics of good lookin' food.

Thoughts go out to his friends and family.

RIP Mick.

Damn awful news.

I was talking to him yesterday, he was in fine spirits.

I'll be having one of five for the old Mountain Griller!
