Post by mickeyb »

Hi there was in the USA a couple weeks ago and did the Myron Mixon Bbq course in his home town.

With his rubs he uses 3 spices which Im finding hard to source in Aussie

Hickory Powder

Maple Powder

Honey Powder

Ive searched high and low on the net but not having real success does anyone know where to source these products

Free shipping over $99 isn't it?. Buy a few more things and send it to a CA freight forwarder.

maybe I am missing something here but could you not use a hickory liquid smoke for the hickory powder and play with the different sugars you can get for alternatives

You could always make maple crystals yourself, not too hard. And if you are looking for other uses for them after making a batch they go great when added to some pancake batter

Try hickory smoking some salt and using some unrefined sugar like palm sugar as an alternative

Try this mob, I buy some stuff from them that I can't get in Australia. Freight is very reasonable.
