Post by Davo » Mon Nov 02, 2015 10:41 pm

Hi folks.....

Channel 7 and Sunrise are hosting a BBQ Championship with 5 finalists being flown to Sydney for a BBQ Cook off....the Winner of this cook off will fly to Chicago next year for the Australia Vs America BBQ Championships.

Good chance for a free trip to the USA.....if you fancy your chances

Here's the Website:

It's sunrise....a disgrace of a show....I would avoid it out of principle, although given the chance to impart salmonella to some of the hosts I might be interested.

There is also a show starting on 7 called Aussie Bbq Heroes. Probably just the same as every other cooking show. But at least it's cooked using bbqs.

I know some of you might think the comp is a bit naff and not true BBQ blah blah blah
But you can't deny the prize is pretty cool and a dream for me
Anyway my BBQ partner Evan and I entered and made the finals so it's off to Sydney we go next week to compete.
Whatever the outcome it should be a great experience

Take out a win please Hogsy! You'll do well. Just hope the smoke Gods all align & ward off any little hiccups that get thrown up along the way.

Happy hunting Hogsy. Really appreciate Weekend Sunrise flying up and doing the National weather crosses at the Burleigh Comp. Has given a variety of folks a launch pad now for bigger things. CS

Thats terrific Hogsy, Jan and I love all the cooking shows and really enjoy settling down in front of the telly to watch them. Prefer the ones like Spice Journeys, Food Safari and the Delia/Nguyen/Kuruvita type ones but also complete fans of Masterchef ( alright you lot, stop laughing! )
We'll be watching..................................Hope you and your mate absolutely blitz it and bring home the bacon.

GOOD LUCK!

Cheers, Wayne and Jan

Thanks all
Bentley we have to cook 3 proteins, chicken, pork and beef. It's not L &S so I presume the cuts will be more of the grilling type. There are 5 teams of two in the final
