Thought I would share the best meal I had during the holiday.

The restaurant was called Belvedere and was located at Cinque Terre in Monterosso on the coast of Italy.
It was a variety of whole seafood cooked in a clay pot for several hours with a heap of tomato, garlic, chilli etc etc and they bring it out and pour it into a huge bowl.
I counted about 30 muscles, 6 large prawns, whole octopus, whole lobster, pipis, calamari, fish and a stack of bread..

While the Mrs did help she didn't come close to eating half of it and there was no way I was leaving anything behind from a dish that tasted so amazing.
As for the cost I can't remember exactly but I do recall calculating it in AUD and thinking it was under $200.

Sucks to be back at work :(

Now there's a good sort of a feed. That Cinque Terre area is on our bucket list for a visit. Can't wait to get there!

Yeah, that looks fantastic. Nothing more to say really (apart from I want some).

I would think cooked that long that most of the shellfish would be unmercifully tough...but not the case?

I presume things are added at different stages. Occy would get the full treatment and allow the flavours of the stock to develop. Squid could get a while to break down through to delicate things at the end. Also presuming would be a fairly low heat. Just guessing though, but that's how I'd do it.
