Gday
Yes I like the kamado but the Weber Q can certainly get you out of the poo in fire bans.
The pellet smokers seem to dominate these days. Plug in and dial in the temp. Why not!
I was hoping that you would forget the about the electric car bit. Basically who cares. He a cracky old bugger. I started with a brick bbq home build in the back yard and be buggered if I end up with an electric bbq run off my soler powered electricery car battery. So be it
Please continue to contribute. We need a history.

Happy New Year 2025!
Got the Weber kettle out for NYE.
In the old days the Weber kettle was the first step for "serious" bbqing after the gasser.
Nowadays bbq'ers tend to go to the set and forget bbqs like pellet or stay with gassers or electric complete with VEGAN.
For the forum old timers who remember this forum's heydays.

Re: Its Quiet on this Board
Yep. still love using my 2 kettles as much as I can or as much as my Mrs can stand eating meat
I had both of them going on Xmas Eve and cooked enough food that kept both of us going for pretty much 4 days.
2kg chicken wings
2 kilo small potatoes
10 frozen corn cobblets (these are the best and juciest)
1 x porchetta roast....this was a small roast but crikey, it lasted us almost 3 days
3 x Portabello Mushrooms
yeah that's about it, I used the 2 kettles for a few reasons, firstly i wanted to use up my last bag of Kingsford briquettes....won't be buying again even if Costco got pallets of them in.......rubbish compared to our Heatbeads.
2ndly, cooked at different heat zones.....wings using the Kettle Kone and the Porchetta and Potatoes using the Slow n sear at roasting temps
3rdly, to cut down cooking time so as i wouldn't have to cook in intervals.
Xmas day, just warmed up the remainder of the wings and Potatoes on the Q3200.
Last night we carried out our usual Japanese tradition of eating Noodles on New Year.....it's usually green udon noodles at Midnight but we had some other style of ramen noodles.
Earlier in the day we had some Japanese Curry and rice. Lots of snacks like blue cheese, Brie, these Takoyaki snacks my wife found on our last trip in Melbourne Costco.
I'm honestly sick of eating...but i know that won't last long

The gen X and millenniums will be the biggest voting block in the next general election. The baby boomers are literally a dying breed. They were shaped in a world the boomers made for them. They will pave a new world. Different but new.
They shop for bbq different . Yes they look at the forums but to read not to write. They’ll check out bunnings of course. But a lot of thier choices would be infuenced by utube videos and the other media. They not be infuenced by adds on TV that’s for sure.

Betcha this will be a big thing going forward. It’s electric which is more and more carbon friendly . It’s designed for outside. It grills bakes smokes hell its even got an aifryer. Top of the line models even cold smoke and dehydrate. Got a price tag to match…..
