Gas burner problem

I have an Arresto smoker which I am very happy with. I have one problem I cannot solve. When I start the burner it continually goes out. As soon as I start it and then release the gas button, the burner goes out. Sometimes it will stay on as long as I don't open the door or adjust the gas flow. It is not a wind issue. I have tried disconnecting the regulator from the bottle and trying to reset the diaphragm but nothing seems to work. I have resorted to clamping the gas button in. Anybody know my problem?
