Hi all
In NZ we have almost no offset smokers available. Yoder was available for a while but is now hard to get but can be inported from Aus on order. you can imagine what that adds to the cost.
There is available a "Texas Original Pit" this has a horizontal barrel and a vertical barrel at the end. I like the idea of the added vertical barrel for slow cool smoke. Anybody had any experience with this?

I haven't but they are an interesting looking smoker. Sorry I can't shed any light on there performance. I would say they wouldn't be much different then a normal offset smoker.

I think that the vertical barrels on some smokers are more or less warmers..to keep meat warm after the initial smoking.chilli wrote:Hi all

We have also a couple of new Australian offset fabricators doing great work here and have had many of their smokers do great stuff at the comps as well as catering.

Silver Creek Smokers: https://www.facebook.com/silvercreeksmokersAU/ (if you're on facebook...his website doesn't seem to be loading)
Problem is shipping them across the pond....might be a bit exxy for just one unit.

They currently have stock of both Yoder Offset Smokers & Yoder Pellet and a full 40' container is now on the way to Auckland from Yoder in Kansas USA and due to arrive around mid-late July 2018
Check them out at http://www.bbqsandmore.co.nz/bbq-grills ... rills.html
The RRP prices should also be coming down when this container arrives.
