Re: Venturing into charcoal cooking - which one?
Didn't look at them all, but as most seem to be 'open' you may as well just get one of those $79 mini spits and put a grill/grate on top. is steaks/snags/chicken breasts all you're going to BBQ? ever thought about Beef ribs - a 7 hour cook for melt in your mouth ribs or a brisket over 12-ish hours, ...

Re: Did a 10 hour practice run
> last weeks akorn kept going out drama by the look of the pic, you have lots of 'little bits' of charcoal, and they tend to block the airflow. I had the same problem once and ended up buying a $4 K-Mart cutlery strainer(?) (looks like a mini chimney starter) - put that in the middle and the charcoa...

Re: Akorn and Dragon General Discussion
I presume you're talking about the part that is attached directly to the shell i.e. the legs go into this - not the actual table - that comes off easily. just had a look at mine and it looks like you'd have to take out the inner shell - removing the pop rivets - which would probably break any seal w...

Re: keeping the BBQ forum going
> So what is the best ozzy bbq forum? If you're prepared to search, this forum has all the info you could ever want. Unfortunately, newer BBQ-ers are lazy S-O-B's, so they ask the same questions that have been asked and answered numerous times previously. It would be a shame to see all this info dis...

Re: Stainless or Porcelain grill on my Beefeater Sig?
something worth considering.... instead of flame tamers and s/s grills - try "grill grates" good description here: http://www.smokekingbbqs.com.au/product/grillgrate-for-gas-bbqs-2-panels/ you can also get them at BBQ's Galore https://www.barbequesgalore.com.au/grillgrate-pack I only used ...

GOLF BALL KILLS WIFE
Well, if we're doing golf jokes.... Oliver Purblicoff was teeing off from the men's tee. On his downswing, he realized that his wife, Maureen, was teeing up on the woman's tee directly in front of him. Unable to stop his swing, he nailed it, and hit her directly in the temple, killing her instantly....

Re: keeping the BBQ forum going
This (current format) forum has 100000+ posts about BBQ-ing, and is likely to be top-of-the-pops in any google-BBQ search, so, if it is to survive (and grow) it needs to attract the attention of the 'searchers' once they are here, so they will return to have another look, and, hopefully, put up a po...

Re: Looking for new wireless thermometer
a few to chose from here
http://urbangriller.com.au/temperature-probes/
I have the maverick 732, works perfectly.
there's lots of posts about the newer ones connecting to your
phone via bluetooth, but the range is terrible. If that's a problem
the maverick 733 might be the one to get.
