Re: Its Quiet on this Board
Facebook forums only win because it's more instant, but good luck trying to find archive posts and topics that are anymore than 3 weeks old....that is the downside unless people keep feeding posts into that topic, it just fades into the never never!! Schuey has filled a niche, has a good and funny ...

Re: Its Quiet on this Board
Gday That was an interesting read. I had just joined the forum when everything “blow up”. Didn’t understand what had happened. Belonged to all the forums so I knew enough just to let sleeping dogs lie over the years. Glad I did wasn’t my place to judge anyway. It’s been long enough now I think so I...

Re: Vale Captain Cook 17th April 2023
Yep got it in my inbox.
Not working atm, sort of had to take time off due to my wife's and My health too, living off savings so can't afford donations anytime soon.
But good on you for doing that Cobbler.
Have fun cooking up a treat not that you're armed with the good book
Cheers

Vale Captain Cook 17th April 2023
Phil Hartcher aka Captain Cook hasn't been seen on forum pages in some time and today I found out why, around 15 Months ago on the 17th April, 2023, I seen on his Facebook page by some of his friends lamenting on his passing in the early hours on that day. He was survived by his Wife Jill. Captain C...

Re: Its Quiet on this Board
Yeah Dave, everyone abandoned this forum because Paulr would not sell it to the fab 4 who wanted to buy it, also Paul didn't want anyone contacting him privately and said he wanted everything to come through me.......so UG got the shits and they all collaborated against the forum and started their o...
Re: Emberpak
Yeah I just checked as well and all I got was an Old facebook page that hasn't been written in since August 2018 so I'm thinking he may have gone out of business. When I clicked on the website link on that facebook page, it tried to bring up the same FB page again, no actual website.....so yeah....m...

Re: looking for a part for a weber
HI dodster, There's nothing to say that you can't fit any type of temp guage into a Weber ( I think you're referring to the kettle) I've seen huge temp meters in the kettle models that didn't come with a temp guage.....it all depends where you place it. If you place it at the top of the lid, the tem...

Hi Elfmel, How old is it? Are they still available in Australia new or no longer? Sadly that is one of the big problems with some imports, oh they want to sell you a cooker but they don't want to stack the parts or that model is no longer available or supported, usually from a factory in China. If y...

Same to you Beaver....how have you been?
Been a long time since the heady days of BBQ wars
Are you still involved with it? As you can see this forum is pretty much a ghost town these days.
Cheers''

Re: Gas v charcoal v electric
I remember many years ago when my wife went back to Japan to see family, I couldn't go because I had to work, so one day I went to Harvey Norman or Good Guys, can't remember which and bought myself a George Foreman Grill which is one of those that look like a sandwich press with grill bars......it h...

Re: Gas v charcoal v electric
G'day Cobbler Dave, Yeah another one from the same place but this time doing wings and once again, the electric Pulse has almost equalled the Weber Kettle with Lump Charcoal in it. https://youtu.be/v67qowE8cek?si=Dtpbi35gw1w7OOzg I've never cooked on the Pulse, there's 2 models though, the 1000 with...
