bowl of chilli
A young cowboy walks into the town cafe. He sits at the counter and notices an old cowboy with his arms folded, staring blankly at a full bowl of chili. After fifteen minutes of just sitting there staring at it, the young cowboy bravely asked the old cowpoke, "If you ain't gonna eat that, mind ...

Re: Beefeater control Knobs
This may not be your exact model of Beefeater but this is from the Signiture series which i think the Proline is a part of, so i think this manual may give you some guidance on what to do, I think they'd have pretty much the same set up with Burners and such. https://www.beefeaterbbq.com/globalasset...

Re: Another Adelaidean
Welcome Rob, Yeah one of the characteristics of the Weber grills is it's design for lid down grilling. It keeps the flavour in and around the food rather than going up in the atmosphere. You'll get used to it in time. I've got the Nat gas version of the Q3200 and I love it, it's only a bit over a ye...

Re: SOGA 2 in 1 Electric Non-Stick BBQ Teppanyaki Grill Plate Steamboat Dual Sided Hotpot
12 x 7, they have some awesome electric grills in Japan, Yaki-niku or Teppanyaki but also the Japanese like to use a electric or butane powered hotpot during Winter to cook meals like Shabu-Shabu or Suki-yaki to name a couple but there are many hotpot dishes in Japan using just vegetables, bean spro...

Weber Pulse 2000
The Weber Pulse, all electric BBQ grill. For those who live in highrise apartment buildings or if the apartments have strict rules about BBQ types, these are ideal, but even if it's electric, I'd still be mindful about using it indoors, more set the fire alarms off. https://www.weber.com/AU/en/elect...

Re: Thermopen, Still the best?
I've just bought a simple digital Weber stick thermometer and it's pretty quick, good enough for what i need it for and only $35 I've recently heard that Inkbird may have had a recall on one of their thermometers, not sure what model. Not sure if it's been rectified or not. Thermo-pens have always b...

Re: Advice on community hall BBQ
Yes I agree with smokey, provided your old BBQ is still not in too bad condition, it could possibly be worthwhile to refurbish it, new burners, knobs and wheels etc.
Or
Maybe buy a pellet grill and the chef can cook you all some low n slow smokey BBQ.
Cheers

Re: Advice on community hall BBQ
Hi AvB, Yeah after looking up the Hercules BBQ, I can see why your committee have decided that brand and they are made in Australia too so should get good back up. They look very solid and pretty much the same quality as Heatlie which is also an Australian made BBQ so good on you guys for choosing A...

Re: Advice on community hall BBQ
Hi there AvB, I actually didn't give Gasmate a thought so I'm glad you brought that up, they are a good brand, been around for decades and I've never heard a bad thing against them. They are very dependable and Gasmate has a lot of parts and connections for just about everything, not just BBQs. Bunn...

Re: Advice on community hall BBQ
Hi AvB, I'm assuming that the usual BBQ fair at the Community Hall would be of a sausage sizzle and mostly all hotplate/ griddle style cooking so to cook that much food for 60 plus people on a regular basis, best not to buy cheaply as you'll constantly have to replace it. The good thing is you're no...

So perhaps if you see his name in there online, send him a PM and ask what's happened.

What do the new 640's retail for now, I'm guessing no change out of $5K?
