Re: Which Knives Do You Use

My everyday knife set is Global's. I just really like them - they have a shape that suits me. I used to be very careful with them but eventually said why they've paid for themselves several times over - so I now keep them sharp & accept they will wear out eventually so I no longer worry about c...

Re: Which Knives Do You Use

Re: It's hard when guests just drop in for dinner....

Not as rare as they should be Chris. They were introduced over this side of Oz by the early settlers from the east coast. Seems they missed their laughing. Having said that we have a small family that sit in the weeping peppermints out the back and cackle away happily. (they do it to mark their ter...

Re: It's hard when guests just drop in for dinner....

I love Kookas, except when they eat the goldfish out of my pond :) I've caught them stalking the fish and sprayed them with the hose a few times and that seemed to do the trick. Yeah, they took one out of the barrel we had on the balcony a few years ago. That's nature I guess. I am no bird expert W...

Re: It's hard when guests just drop in for dinner....

:) Somewhat rare to hear a kooka around here but I'm maybe 30 kms from the Perth CBD, get woken every morning by rosellas and gallahs, right at the bedroom window :) (That is not always a good thing, depends on why you went to bed :) ) Cheers Not as rare as they should be Chris. They were introduce...

Re: Goat Shoulder

Away games" knives are ones I don't care much what happens to them, and I forgot, I have a little global that is in that list, almost identical steel value as the Kiwi's
No offense to those that like them!

Re: It's hard when guests just drop in for dinner....

Same here, one pinched a hot chip off my plate last week. While I was sitting there eating ! The things are fearless :D At the age of five I watched a kookaburra swoop and land and take on a Tiger snake and kill it and eat it. This continent has the top 11 most venomous snakes in the world, no wond...

Re: Which Knives Do You Use

I have a Victorinox and kiwi/penguin knives for away games, they function and do the job but I always miss the knives I use at home. Kiwi is just stainless steel, soft and easy to sharpen. Victorinox use a very brittle steel that is prone to sawtooth or chipping and microchipping. Quality knives are...
