Re: New Gas BBQ advice needed
So am getting very close to move in date and am starting to come around to the idea of a weber q...big question though, is the 2200 worthwhile for space etc. I don't really have the budget to stretch to a family q and the baby qs are useless for size IMO. Also, is there a way of securing the 2200.....

Re: Gourmet Brined Chicken
Hi All, I cooked a 2.4kg bird using the brine method for 1hr 45mins to internal of 80c on a Kamado Big Joe and it was perfect. Just thought I'd share a time/temp experience as there's not much of that in the thread. Thanks Captain for sharing. Glad you liked it. The cooking time is dependant on man...

You can always use an electric frypan instead of a hot plate.Nath wrote:Spot on Captain.
Plus you cannot get a full "hot plate" you can get a half if you wish to cook eggs and the like.
I never use a hot plate at all.

Re: Weber Family Q
Use a full grill instead of a holate to cook your snags, better taste, you will never look back.
Because you cook with the lid down the complete grill is your cooking surface there aren't any cold spots at the edges.

Re: GMG Model Differences
Classic Fireplaces in geelong have the GMG Davey Crockett.
I can cook for 6 on it no troubles or fit 2 chickens or a leg of lamb or a #50 turkey. The thing with it is it is portable. The DB or the JB are twice the size.

Re: weber Q Blown out!
Call Weber Customer Service in the first instance. It may be something simple or more technical, they are trained to ask the right questions like at what gas setting did you have it on etc.
They will provide you with the solution and it will save you a heap of time.

Re: Gourmet Brined Chicken
Hi guys, I would like to have a crack at this brined chook on my Kettle tomorrow. Can anyone provide some basic set up details for me? Am guessing indirect with a foil tray with water in it but would a full chimney of robot turds (split into two) be too hot? I have an internal temp gauge but don't ...

I doubt if we will see a rise in the exchange rate to the greenback apart from a few cents either way for some time. It would take another GFC caused by a failing US economy to get back to parity. The confidence in the greenback has strengthened

I don't call mine anything as it won't come when I call. Just like a cat so if i did call it anything it would have to be something like pussy or another suitable cat name.

Sure will, my mate in Meld got one about a year ago and I've been hangin to get one ever since. The only real challenge was how to convince the Mrs cause it would look a bit obvious if it just appeared on the deck.
