I know the little bit your talking about I think. Not sure how that would make all the heat just go to the back though? Isn't the main diffuser still in place?

5kg Piglet
Picked it up off gumtree for $300 in box. Barbe chef. Or something barbeques galore model.
No way I'd pay $500 for it. It's not a bad spit but looks like cheap stainless and the rod is just tube.
Anyway, I'm looking at the pig now not the spit

Wayne's nailed it. There is no point in cutting it off. It won't hurt it what would you do with the off it anyway.
It might be a good midway snack for the chef.
Leave the fat cap, it will keep the meat moist and you can always remove it later

It's good to always be cautious. But from experience cryovac meat can have a bit of a smell to it. They should last a few months in the cryovac. So I would probably eat them. Was the bag still well sealed or had the vacuum been lost?

Rainbow Trout
Hi just a Question on the trout, every time I have tried Rainbow trout they have had an earthy taste, does the brining remove that ? If so I might give some a go and give the salmon a miss for a while It's probably because the trout you have had has come out of a dam with a muddy bottom and murky w...

Ahh I could be wrong. I did get a bag ages ago now from Chris. I'm sure I saw a few bags when I went down a couple of weeks ago, could be wrong though!
