Knowing what I do now, I'd get a Weber Q200 and a $150 Weber Kettle (Costco).
I think that would fit in your budget.

If it was from Tom then it is the new model. How do I know? I got one too ;) Anyway with the Q1000 I have, as far as I can gather the only difference is a split grill. If your oven can go as low as 60 or lower then there is no need to make a heating resting esky unless you want something portable.

My ovens lowest setting is 50c i dunno how steady or accurate it is at that low but would it be close enough?
