Why no sugar, I thought you needed sugar to "feed" the yeast?

My chicken disaster

Tried to cook a chook according to the profile from the urban griller. 160 c til 68 c 129 c til 78 c. After 90 minutes the internal was only 43c, and the kids had to be fed, so turned up to 180c. After another 30 min The davey crockett thermometer said 78c, but when I got it inside the maverick said...

Wings on the GMG DC

Cooked up some wings on the Davey Crockett, never had such juicy wings before, but after 45 min at 180 c, they still had a pink tinge that I took to be smoke ring but the sister refused to eat them as they were "raw". Were steaming all the way through. How does anyone else cook theirs? Was little di...

Put it in cold or warmed up?

Would you wait for the grill to come up to temp or put it in cold to get the extra smoke from the start up process?

PS Davey Crockett bought from the awesome Urban Griller

Re: Cape Grim Beef

21 for the ribs and 12 for the rest. Urban Griller looked after us well. Just looking at this meat i am thinking of buying a texas off set style cooker.

All of this meat is off older cows for extra flavour.

Re: Park style BBQ v BBQ Galore turbo

My mate works at the shire, every monday they get phone calls complaining that the hotplates are not very hot. Re: Beefeater vs Bluetongue

I have the 6 burner blue tongue and am well chuffed with it.

My sister has the beefeater.

Of course the blue tongue is worse in finish that the beefeater but it is plenty hot and looks good enough.

And it costs lkess than half the beefeater, when it gets old and manky I will bin it and buy a weber.
