Re: Cleaning grills

This maybe nothing to do with the subject here, but ..... The 'coating' on my 'Q' hotplate (n o t the grill) appears to be coming off :( It's not something I can prove even to myself, but I'm positive the coating which looks like 'teflon' is coming off. Wondering if it is caused by temperature ?? Ha...

Hmm, maybe I should have spent the extra money and bought the one with the black lid.
Good thought (not)

It would look clean but it would be filthy after a while because you would not see the filth that accumulates there

At least if you see it - you will clean it

Re: How do you keep the Weber Q lid clean on the outside?

what is making the outside of the lid needing to be cleaned :?:

On mine it's just the BBQ smoke stain and that cleans off with dish-washing liquid

I clicked on the contact tab and it came up as SORRY THIS WEBSITE IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Just clicked on it now and it does come up 'looking' like a legitimate shop
however the phone number is an OUTBOARD motor service center and I don't think they sell BBQ's

Re: What makes a 'good' and 'great' BBQ?

Hi, I also reckon I get a good bbq steak from the Z & G 4 burner and it can also be done with the lid down. This is by far for me one of the best bbq steaks I have enjoyed on any of my bbqs, as yes I had a few Bunnings beginners.  It's all a progression for certain. Cheers. Russell. I be...

Re: What makes a 'good' and 'great' BBQ?

Having been a 'normal' type of BBQ user for probably 40+ years and when I think back I can tell you the big thing about the 'normal' BBQ is the type and shape of the actual grill bars, as mentioned previously in more detail. However, then there is the Weber Q , something very different in the way me...

Re: I thought I saw a pussy cat....(said tweety bird)

Some 4 or 5 yrs ago I was visiting the son of a friend in one of the small 'closed' mining towns in the mid/north of West Australia. We stayed for dinner that night as his Mother was my partner and no 'outsiders' were permitted into the 'town' site with-out a family invitation. The only place all mi...

New news updated 07/06/17 ( not the "fake news" ) I changed my 'router' from the single 'speed' of ???? and 'requested' a dual band wireless router, free from iiNet - speed also unknown :D the new dual band router does make a big difference to the way you view Netflix and uTube on the telly with-out...

My grandma told me her joints are getting weaker,
so I told her to roll them tighter.

yes, that works, but better idea is to tie them with hemp rope and not butchers string

Re: Weber Q Grills Collapsing

Hi, But... as an ex butcher it seems like a meat issue.... but I may be wrong. After all nothing it what it seems sometimes. Cheers. I also use Porterhouse too, I get it cut between 2 & 3 cm thick by the butcher straight off the 'piece' I cook for 4 mins each side, but don't have the temp s...

Re: Weber Q Grills Collapsing

That is a shame and a problem as well that I'm sure the Weber retailer would like to see :( I thoroughly clean my Baby 'Q' grills with the recommended steel wire brush each time I finish cooking, and again when I fire it up I give it a bit of a brush to get rid of any 'vermin' that may have accumula...

Re: Slow 'N Sear / Competition Steak Cooking

 Just a stupid question but has to be asked or I will never know the answer  How does a steak cooked this way compare with the same steak cooked on a weber 'Q' Same size steak, same doneness etc. Yes I know there will be no smoke, but other than that ?? Just thinking about the steaks tas...

Re: The move from 4 burner to Weber Q

Hi everyone, I'm pretty sure I'm not the first person to worry about the move from the tried and tested 4/6 burner open lid barby, to the Weber Q. There are certainly rave reviews about the Q and I'm seriously considering making the jump. I possibly had the same thoughts you had, with the exception...
