Re: Beef Ribs 23/09/2015

Bentley how much do you pay for brisket per pound where you live ? $12.18/lb. for pork ribs WTH? Man, at that price the ribs would have to cook me a Pizza too! Those are much meatier beef ribs then you can get here unless you have them specifically cut! Really wanted pork ribs but wasn't going to pa...

Beef Ribs 23/09/2015

Picked this up from Woolies today, just getting them ready to 4 hr in the smoke. Not a bad price $12 per kg and ok amount of meat on them. Really wanted pork ribs but wasn't going to pay $26.80 kg with very little meat on them. http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww188/buzzawak/Low%20and%20Slow%20BBQ...

Re: Jumbuck 2 Burner Hooded BBQ

Such a hard question. So much depends on what you want to cook, how often, how quick and for how many and how convenient.
If you are going for the easy of gas, I would recommend having a grill and hot plate which usually mean a 4 burner (unless you are limited for space)

Re: Red Gum Creek Beef Cheek

For my first real low and slow the end result was ok. I don't know if I am a fan of all that smoke flavor. Seemed to over power the beef a bit.
Will have to try doing some ribs and try for a sweet profile.

Re: Seal on the kamado bbq

Here in Newcastle a good used Weber are hard to come by. I had been looking for one for a few months then Aldi had their upright smoker on sale but I missed out and got the consolation prize of the Pearl with Pizza ring. For the price its not bad. Why do you want to seal up a kettle? There not meant...

The kettle I have is a Aldi Black pearl and leaks to the point that I can't control the temp using the two vents.
