Big Cook this Weekend - thoughts please?

Hi fellow pellet heads, I have this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/wazza/other/farm%20ribs.jpg What you are looking at is a 3.5kg point end, and 7.3kg of mutton ribs (6 sheep worth) from the family farm. So we have up to 50 people (kids included) coming over on Sunday lunch. So my plan was ...

Re: Which Combination Of BBQs?

Weber isnt bad, i do like it. I can light a small fire or a big fire and cook meat to temp...grilling is annoying in it and i often use 2 at once for the extra capacity. I did just have the 3 webers and my 6 burner lined up, but i have started building the patio in and i want to funky it up a bit t...

Re: Which Combination Of BBQs?

Are you happy with the long and slow in the Weber using the snake or would you like something perhaps with more control?

Is grilling on coals your main focus?

Which part(s) of the cooking you do now would you like to be able to do differently?

They are there, and not that far from Perth either.

Re: Rainbow Trout

Hi just a Question on the trout, every time I have tried Rainbow trout they have had an earthy taste, does the brining remove that ? If so I might give some a go and give the salmon a miss for a while It's probably because the trout you have had has come out of a dam with a muddy bottom and murky w...

Re: Rainbow Trout

Hi Robduca, I also do aquaponics, well not at the moment due to extensions, but hope to get the system up and running again soon. IMHO you did the best thing with the trout, hot smoking. It's all I pretty much do with the trout at the end of winter, smoke (hot) them up, yum. Is it warm down there? Y...

Jarrah and rosemary sound intriguing, do you know if there are plans to bring it to production?

I've only had Jarrah smoked stuff once, the butcher in Mt Barker Jarrah smokes his bacon, really yummy.

Re: Beafeater Bugg issues

Make a video and post it up on youtube. This one is very curious. My sister has a bug, once you post the video up I'll go over to her place and have a play with her's. As the others have said no real moving parts so I am curious to have a look. Hers works perfectly as far as I know. Definitely don't...

It's hard to find non smoked knuckles. Is there anything good to be done with the smoked ones? Hi Magste, Not sure where in Perth you are, but The Beef Shed in Malaga had heaps of them the other day, from memory $9.99 kg. Had an Octoberfest type promotion thing so I'm assuming they'll stock them al...

Re: Pellet burners becoming more popular in Perth

So that means Canning ton has pellets? Yes, quite a few, but I am fairly sure (happy to be corrected if wrong) that they only have the GMG Fruitwood. I got some GMG Premium Gold from Urbangriller yesterday, he also has the GMG Fruitwood, GMG Texas blend and those hardwood ones. And he's a couple of...
