Re: Cape Grim Brisket vs Fernhill Road Brisket

Wow, what a cook up! Thanks for taking the time to write up the results Waz. That is indeed one full bbq you had. Cape Grim Brisket vs Fernhill Road Brisket

Hi All, Had a big cook on the weekend for a touch over 50 people. The thread started in the woodpellets section but I thought others who have smokers etc may be interested and may not see this. 7.4 kg of brisket, 7.6kg of mutton ribs, 5.5 kg of chicken wings and a couple of trays on snags all disapp...

Re: Big Cook this Weekend - thoughts please?

Really well. Very little left over so I'm glad I got that other brisket off you, and we have a winner in the brisket off. I should get a chance to get some pics up tonight and I'll give you the verdict then.

Re: Hi All

Welcome aboard.

Gas bbq's have their place, especially NG ones, so cheap to run. Don't forgot you can still smoke in a gas bbq.

Re: A Gift from Down Under...

That's cool, I want one now.

But Bently, the important question is 'do you have a stubby holder'? Can't BBQ properly without one.

Re: Sides/accompaniments for Smoked Brisket

What sort of flavours are you putting on the brisket? This could have bearing on the side dish. I saw one of the rolled briskets going cheap in coles the other day so figured I'd have a play and unroll it. Went the tex mex route, cumin, coriander, garlic, oregano etc (then into the Traegar), did it ...

Re: Big Cook this Weekend - thoughts please?

Gents, I have a public service information piece for you. If you are in the market for a 50L portable fridge such as a Waeco or Engil, and the wife asks: "Well how much stuff can you actually get in them?" Well you can confidently answer with: "7.6 kg of lamb ribs and 7.4 kg of brisket with room to ...

Re: Perth Cape Grim brisket group buy

Burb, PM sent.

Yeah the porn knuckles did look interesting.

I had the same thoughts too about cooking the Cape Grim next to the Fern Hill. I'll be able to report on Sunday the differences.
