Smoker decision help please

Hi All, I currently have a Family Q and twin burner Ziggy, but have recently been introduced to smoking from my Brothers GMG Davy Crockett pallet smoker. I have used the smoker box filled with chips before in my old 4 burner and the Ziggy, but it does not work well in the Weber. Basically I love the...

Re: First cook on Ziegler and Brown

Bump. Anyone else done pizza on a Ziggy lately. I've just gone through my first gas bottle with my ziggy and am yet to do pizza (although have done some recently, check out page 26 on 'what did you cook'). Does lifting the stone to get the pizza up into the dome seem to be the way to go? Cheers Waz...

Re: What Did You Cook Part 9 - Dec 2013

Pizza time. Invited around to my brothers by my sister who is currently living there for pizza. He's FIFO so he missed out, but I did have fun playing with his turbo elite bbq. The bbq with those 'special' burners flat out: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v213/wazza/other/599bd24d-48f3-40cd-abce-a...

Re: Rib Eye Roast - $13.99 in Malaga Perth

So went to a friends place in a town east of Perth tonight for a BBQ, so can report on the quality of the $14 rib eye. It's ok, not great, but definitely not bad either. Flavour was very good but for my steak cooked to rare there was a lot of connective tissue which had not fully broken down. The $2...

Re: Rib Eye Roast - $13.99 in Malaga Perth

Hi Nath, All sorts of cuts. Everything from packs of say 4 chops through too the whole muscles. It's in a big cool room so I had to step out a couple of times to defrost. They have all the bulk cuts but will also slice it up for you for no charge. These are from memory so don't quote if I'm a little...

Re: Another new guy from South Aus

Hi AlpacaBloke, What would you compare an Alpaca too taste wise? Sheep? Goat? I recently got a couple of Alpacas from a mate to run with the sheep on the family farm. This is the first year for three years now we have not had sheep stolen. We were hoping having a couple of Alpacas would deter these ...

Re: Another New One from Perth

Hi Steve,

You're only a couple of suburbs over.

I presume you put a pizza stone in your bbq? How did you find it?

Re: Glad to be here!

Hi Weberdan,

A Noob on this site myself. From my experience a thermometer in the lid is the best thing you can do for a webber, great choice. The second best thing is a thermometer for the meat.

Hope the coking goes well,

Cheers

G'day from Wazza, Bassendean WA

Hi All, Have been reading for a little while, thought it's time I posted. My old and faithful died recently. 4 burner Cordon Blue, stainless steel frame with a separate deep dish and wok burner. Came into my life in 1999. Officially died November 2013. Anyway, we are in the middle of house extension...
