Re: Bear's custom Weber trolley build

:)

Lids and drips, always a problem, you can't stop them dripping so maybe put a gutter along the back of the bench to catch them and be disposed of? Just some lid hooks back there ?

Love it, my Q is on a recycled roll around tool box re-purposed, same motivation, but no torches - yet :)

Re: Captain Cook???

Ah, yes, the Captain will put it on the new site soon, but it's his IP so not sure what restrictions he puts on downloading - still Aussiecue doesn't charge membership.

:)

Re: Captain Cook???

The Captain has been a bit indisposed but will be moving his Q cookbook to the new Aussiecue shortly but in the meantime you can still find it at the prior incarnation of Aussiecue here: http://aussiecue.freeforums.net/thread/181/captains-weber-recipe-useful-hints That site is now dormant because Au...

Re: Rack System for Grill

:) Metals do not insulate, they conduct and radiate heat, not perfectly but can get close. This is what Chris is refering to: http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/thermal-conductivity-d_429.html Check Carbon steel, or if you prefer iron, then have a look at say asbestos or any other known good insulato...

Re: GMG Alternative

:) I've the impressions that a Yoder is on the way from other threads, also that maybe the first purchase was purely a dip of the toe to see what pellets were about. I'm tempted to go the same route in time but a Yoder is a bit rich for me :) The Android/iOS name calling is getting a bit carried awa...

Re: Dalmation rub question

:)

Depends if you think getting all scientific is actually cooking :)

There are too many variables and they endure into the cook, as in what your senses tell you - I rarely weigh anything, cooking is about passion, not a spreadsheet :)

Re: GMG Alternative

I do not, yet, own one of these but the Android/iPhone incompatibility is pretty real, not just with GMG.

I'd make a reasonable bet that Nath is right on the money - have to love software - not :)

Re: Nothing exciting; cleaning a Weber

:) Yeah, I dust mine if it has not been used for a while, otherwise heat of cooking and the odd hit with the wire brush is all it needs. It's 16 years old and the only corrosion on it is a chip on the lid from an enthusiastic mate dropping it whilst "helping" but it has been rust stopped. I do under...

Then I'm glad I didn't - that's an interesting glitch presumably will be fixed when PaulR completes the upgrade ?

Re: Reverting to standard from Mobbern

:) I'm wary of actually doing it but if you can still access your User Control Panel from Mobbern then the toggle seems to be under the Board preferences tab where the choice is prosilver or Mobbern ? I'm wondering though if that isn't the problem, that the theme has hidden the control panel. Cheers

Re: Having issues with heat.

Hmm,

Never, ever had that problem with my 57cm and that is years, can only suggest the fuel may not be good?

It really is hard not to get high heat even if the vents are misaligned.

Re: First loaves turned out ok but does anyone have a good b

:) As I noted, Jamie Oliver is English, it is colder there so proofing can be a challenge, but no, it's not excessive, in just the same way as there is nothing wrong with what the other guys are saying, it really just depends on the trade off between time and flavour - that being before you get into...
