Re: G'day from NSW

G'day 220 and welcome to the forum. Definitely a market for Apple wood either in chunks or as dust, I use it myself often and it makes the best Cold Smoked Cheese and Smoked Salmon If you don't want to prepare it and sell it yourself you may be able to sell the timber as is to someone who will. Auss...

Re: Acronyms

Unfortunately you can't get rid of advertising as far as I know, you learn to ignore it after a while. It will also reflect what you have been searching for on ebay and the internet if you don't regularly clear your search history The correct spelling is Acronyms but I don't think I've ever seen a l...

Re: assistance is required

I don't think you can block posts because the forum is about all types of BBQ. It's a repository for ideas and experiences. Probably best if you only view threads that interest you. But some of the cooks posted using other methods can be adapted to the cooking method you prefer. I'm not into competi...

Re: Heat Beads Lump Charcoal now at Bunnings

They did have two varieties last week. The boxed stuff had been moved towards the back of the shop and there was some bagged stuff where it used to be. Been looking for the heat beads branded charcoal so I can give it a test run, forgot all about going to the Canberra shops when I was there Wednesda...

Re: Fornetto smoker

I've seen these up at my local Bunnings and if I hadn't already been given a ProQ a few years ago I would certainly give them a go. The Bunnings kettle I've got with the pizza ring and roti does everything I want from it and works great as a kettle in it's own right so there's no reason at all why t...

Re: Smoked habaneros

I like chilli in dishes to give it that extra kick but not to the point where it paralyses the mouth  Cheers Davo You wouldn't like the "Spicy Chicken with Numbing" recipe I make then, especially when I cook it without my specs on and mistake Teaspoons of Chili flakes for Tablespoons. :? :? oo...

Re: Smoked habaneros

Go easy on those dried chillies, the smell is unreal and lulls you into a false sense of security and next thing you know your mouth is on fire. Made that mistake with smoked & dried Butch T scorpions. Never again. I ground mine by getting a $20 coffee grinder from Kmart, doesn't matter if I throw i...

Funny you should ask, this was posted on another forum recently and may be what you were looking for. I'm just going to add the link because it wasn't my post and I don't believe its good manners to re post someones recipes without having tried them or tweaked them to my taste. http://aussiecue.dude...

Re: Kangaroo Texas tacos

Australia is the only country in the world that eats the animals on the coat of arms, we do it because they taste good. Oh, that this were true. Andorra, Indonesia, Moldova and Iceland all feature cattle on their coats of arms, and beef features on the menu in each of those countries. There are a b...

Re: Which BBQ

Your question is very timely as this discussion was being had at my house recently. Mostly about why there has to be so much BBQ stuff taking up all the space. My back deck plays host to a ProQ, Bunnings kettle with roti and Pizza oven attachment and a 6 burner gasser. Chimneys, charcoal baskets, co...

Re: Rack of Lamb and pomegranate reduction

That looks absolutely brilliant.

I've spent the day preparing, cooking and eating what I thought was a great Lamb dish and also thought I was chockers, but apparently I'm still hungry according to my big fat guts.

Yumm, well done Lambassador.

Re: Greetings All

You'll love the ProQ, takes a couple of cooks to get to know it but after that you can do so much. Do yourself a favour and learn to drive it with heat beads first then diversify into charcoal. Charcoal is great, flavour is just so much better, but it can be a bit temperamental if you change timber ...
