Re: Internal meat probe vs instant read: which to trust?

Decide which type of thermometer you want and purchase a good unit as the internal temperature of all you are cooking is very important and especially so with poultry. For an internal, look at something like a Thermapen as they are as good as it gets. Be sure and learn where the pick up is on all yo...

Re: Weber Jumbo Joe Kettle

Hello Davo, It is a real shame that you can't get the accessories for the Weber products like we can get in the US. Lots of cool stuff for all their products. I think the hinged grates are a must for the kettles. The Craycourt are very pricy over here as well. Like yourself, I like the older simple ...

Re: Weber Go Anywhere vs Cobb Cooker

Hi Old Dave Do you mean to use lump charcoal instead of heat beads? I have never used lump charcoal. It seems hard to find. Thanks for the info. Cheers hjl I didn't know that lump charcoal was difficult to find in your area. Lump does burn hotter than the heat beads or charcoal briquettes but if th...

Re: Weber Go Anywhere vs Cobb Cooker

Hi Anyone have tips to get crackling on a pork roast from the cobb or the go any where? Cheers hjl Although I have not done it on either grill, I would want to make the very hottest fire I could and cook it indirect until it is done. With either grill, a fellow would need a good LUMP charcoal and p...

Re: Weber Go Anywhere vs Cobb Cooker

You have two fine portable grills and both are good for about any type of cooking with a few inexpensive modification and setups and with the Cobb, expensive accessories. I like cooking on both of them and get good results off of both grills. If you want better grilling on the Cobb, I would suggest ...

Re: Which Portable gas BBQ to buy

Here is another option for a good camping grill. It is the Cobb Premier Gas Grill and is about to be released in your country in the next few weeks. You can do about anything you want in this grill including baking. I will include a few pictures so you can see it in action. I will start with some ba...

Re: Weber Go Anywhere

Here is another item that I find interesting for this fine little grill. As I am a big rotisserie buff, I am tempted to purchase this setup. Maybe wait and one of the grandkids will get it for my birthday! https://www.amazon.com/Onlyfire-Rotisserie-Weber-Anywhere-Barbecue/dp/B07JF98DLP/ref=sr_1_fkmr...

I operate my GMG Davy Crockett with a JumpStarter when camping or any place that doesn't have electric power. Works great.

Porkburgers

This cook was done on my Cobb Premier Grill and is probably the best burger that I have ever tasted. You’ll want to throw rocks at a standard hamburger after trying this one. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/OldDave/Cobb%20Grill/IMG_1527.jpg I like my pork burger on an onion bun and then dress...
