King Eriks Kamado is dead :(
It's been a while since I have written. Now I have bad news. Last night while making pizza the lid came off of the kamado and smashed. There are just too many pieces to consider fixing it. I don't suppose anyone has a spare lid for an Imperial No.5? David (you can see what it used to look like here:...

Re: Q Ham (Pickled Pork)
I finally got around to doing this on the Kamodo yesterday with a bit of smoke. Brilliant, and so easy.
Keep up the great forum work everybody.

Re: Kamado Practicality
I was given a 4 burner with wok cooker just before I bought my Kamodo. Since then the only things I have used the gasser for is 1. cooking a large amount of sausages, 2. keeping things warm, 3. storing things in the cupboard underneath, and 4. using the wok burner to light my charcol or heatbeads fo...

Re: Kamado heat deflectors cracking
I picked up a 2nd hand Kamado without a heat deflector. I just use a pizza stone - stick it on top of my grill rack, throw a couple of egg rings on top and then a drip pan, meat or whatever I'm cooking.
Worked out about half the price of what you were looking at.

Re: catering for 120 people
I recently did 3 lambs for 150 people, had a bit of meat left over but one of the sheep were quite a bit bigger than the other 2 just by accident. I've never tried cooking beef butts on a spit but there is something attractive about having a whole carcas turning over the coals - even if it's not the...

Re: So whats your "Offal" opinion ?
Mum used to cook a few different things, but I could only go the ox tongue sandwiches. Since buying the Kamado I've accaisionally wondered if I am missing out on something. Wife wont have it - every time I bring it up in front of the children she tells me off and threatens to call in child welfare. ...

Can you identify this 1950's bbq
Hi all I was in a 2ndhand store yesterday and stumbled upon a 1950's Australian made bbq. I was told that it had never been used and they had the original box. It was round, about 20 inches. It had 3 short legs and sat pretty low to the ground. Underneath there was a handle that you wound up, this p...
