Re: GMG any good?
Mine came with the 3 piece steel. Was floor stock that had been used to demo half a dozen cooks. Came with a new cover, inside and front shelves. I'm really loving the wifi and convenience of set and forget potential of the profiles!

Re: Pork Crackle in a Pellet Grill
Had a crack at this last night on the GMG. Not sure where I went wrong but got sweet FA crackle and ended up over-cooking the meat trying to chase the crackle...grr!

Appreciate the comments and took the plunge into a DB yesterday. Really looking forward to the convenience this will give me compared to the keg.

Let's see if I can murder pulled pork!?
It didn't take much, took the keg from 250 to just over 300 and things got moving. Removed from the heat with an internal of 198f. Foiled up with a splash of the mop juice, towelled and in the esky until dinner.

Re: Let's see if I can murder pulled pork!?
Cheers Chris.
I didn't have a spray bottle available so made up a mixture of 1 part Apple Juice, 1 part water, 1/4 part and moped it on.
The meat rose to 163 but has now dropped back down to 158, the keg is sitting at 240.

Let's see if I can murder pulled pork!?
Gumb - gee I thought the bottom vent controlled the temp and the top was more about controlling smoke flow?? No wonder I struggle with this thing!! Anyway, just woke from my slumber and she's sitting bang on 250, so looks like I got lucky there - phew. beerme - she's a cheap $30 remote probe, that I...

Let's see if I can murder pulled pork!?
Temps got as high as 250 and have gradually crept down since. Both vents were set on 1.5. I cracked the bottom one a little more a couple of hours ago but it hasn't made any diff because it's down to 200f now. It's still smoking so I took a peak and opened both vents to 2. Hopefully that nudges thin...
