I've got a Kamado Joe and hate going to bbq galore at Jindalee for theirs If there isn't anyone close, I'm thinking about getting a tonne to sell in our shop at Fernvale. I don't know if there is a demand in this area th...

Re: Charcoal suppliers

We have binchotan in stock, but it is not from Japan. Japanese binchotan is extremely difficult to source in any worthwhile quantity. A few shady operators in Japan have even resorted to importing from Vietnam/Laos/Thailand etc and then on selling as Japanese binchotan.

Re: Charcoal group buy

Hi everyone,

Just to clarify, if you are going down the option of collecting from the depot, the charcoal will need to be picked up in one go. Transport companies would not allow multiple people to turn up to pick up stock over several days.

Re: Quickest way to light charcoal

I tell people at BBQ School to always have some lump charcoal as it lights quickly and then it will light the rest of the fuel (this works well for Robot Turds). Chris I do this when testing sawdust/coconut briquettes. Stick some lump under the chimney to light up my briquettes. Gets the briquettes...

Re: CHARCOAL CANBERRA!!!

Hi all,

We've recently tried to find a retailer to stock our charcoal in Canberra. So far, no luck.

And we can definitely do a group buy if a couple of people are interested.

Re: Red heads natural wood charcoal - ok for kamado?

Depending on the brand you get, briquettes will all perform differently. Some burn hotter but go faster, others will burn long be at a lower temp, and some ash more than others. All comes down to the type of wood used, fixed carbon content, volatile matter and ash %, etc. Briquettes can get hot: htt...

Re: Aus Post inefficiencies

Aus Post once asked us if we wanted to use their services to ship our charcoal. I just laughed! Far easier to use a courier service.

Personally, I can't stand Vegemite. However, I quite like marmite chicken. Basically, it's deep fried chicken pieces in a marmite based sauce.

Try Doser Freight. We used to use them for sending pallets up to Maroochydore. A few times when they've turned up at our warehouse, they had some oversized freight on the truck.
