Re: $500 to buy first smoker, any advice?
Spend 100 dollars, 'build' (it is too easy!) a UDS. Doesn't get any better. And yea a UDS is fun to build and sper efficient for a hot smoker. Went a bit overboard on mine but that's just me, still did it for around 250 tho I LIKES yer smoker, and I likes that you're a Geelong boy. I just might sho...

Re: Vision Kamado seals - what are the options?
I don't know why they'd say that....as long as the Nomex is long enough I can't see why it wouldn't fit. BBQs galore have felt for the Joe at around $30-$40 and it will last a good 12 months if looked after. Two months isn't good for seals, I'm wondering if you are doing something you shouldn't. Th...

Vision Kamado seals - what are the options?
Hi,
Having had my Vision kamado for almost two months, it is time to say bye-bye to felt -
the top felt seal is falling apart and the main seals are on the verge of giving up. So what are my options? Bear grills say they have nothing that fits a Vision.
How have everyone else solved this problem?

Re: Pig Tail Food Flipper
Mods/owner, How about putting a separate sticky in the general forum with some rules/guidelines? That way new posters would know how to act, and wouldn't have to be treated in the - to be honest - quite appalling way that the two in this thread. Even if they had been trying to flog a product, the po...

Thanks Glenn I am sure I will.
But the UDS is not happy, keeps screaming 'traitor' from its new spot on the lower deck.

Re: Wanted 6 drums for Projects in Melbourne
There's a place in Laverton that recondition drums. They're happy to pull them off their line for you, nice clean bare metal drums, no need for burning them out. PM if you want their details.

Re: Swedish Saffron bread (Lussekatter)
Magnus, not fair!
I have a really busy cooking schedule for Christmas with Turkey, smoked ham, boiled ham, rödkål, rullsylta and Janssons, and now I'll have to do Lussekatter as well...i had forgotten about these!
Cheers,
Ulf
