Re: Mini spit
When is a BBQ not a BBQ? Went down to my local camping store to take advantage of a 40% off BBQ sale. Took a Spinifex mini spit ( http://www.anacondastores.com/camping-hiking/camp-cooking/camping-stoves/spinifex-deluxe-bbq-spit-with-shield/p/BP90050922 ) up to the counter and they wanted to charge m...
Re: Any Good
Gagganis does 2 different sorts of charcoal. I am pretty sure this is just rebadged Indonesian stuff. They do another version in a plain white 20kg bag that is locally made.

What can I do with the really small leftover charcoal?
If I buy a bag of lump that has been tossed around too much I'll end up with a heck of a lot of dust and fine pieces that are too small to use. There's also the small pieces that fall through with the ash to the bottom of the kamado. Can I convert them into a "turd" so it doesn't go to was...

I used Elmers white "school glue" from office works - cheap, non-toxic, works well (has lasted several years)

Ethical and environmentally friendly???
Hi all, I don't consider myself to be a "Greenie" but I try to do the right thing. Recently I saw a box of charcoal in my local supermarket, $10 for 10kg, so I thought I would give it a try. It was only when I got home that I realised it was imported from a mangrove in Thailand. Up until n...

University research - how to make the perfect pizza
Conducted at the University of Sheffield. I note that it doesn't tell you how to cook it, and it doesn't say if pineapple is allowed. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/lifestyle/food/mathematician-dr-eugenia-cheng-writes-algorithm-for-the-perfect-pizza/story-fni0dgif-1226746701261 http://cheng.staff.she...

Re: King Erik's #5 Imperial Kamado
Finally got around to doing something with the old jarrah BBQ trolley (see page 1). This should be better than the original kamado wheels, I wont have to bend over and I've got a table as well. Just needs a sand down and maybe some oil. Cost about $40 for some new wheels, screws, metal strap, and po...

Re: No Knead dough recipe
I've done the no knead bread many times in my kitchen oven. Without a doubt this is the best bread that you can make in a conventional oven. I only use a 1/4 teaspoon of yeast, and it rests on my kitchen bench for almost 24 hours before cooking.

Re: kamado seals
I used Elmers White Glue which was recommended to me by the man from kamado Australia who supplied my gasket. It's a USA brand but you can find it at Officeworks. I have had no problems with my gasket becomming unstuck.
