Re: Weber q vs stainless
It's a matter of 'taste' sure the big stainless steel BBQ looks great, and you can hang everything inside the cabinet etc, but that is N0T the 'taste' I was thinking about ..... Get a 450 gm Porterhouse cut extra thick, just about the footprint (size) of your hand and then add sea salt/grinded...

Re: Ziegler & Brown Grand Turbo
Yep, we looked at the weber. Interested in wether the Ziggy cooks better (hotter esp). Quality-wise, the Ziggy seems to come out on top. Just how hot does the BBQ have to get to, to be hotter ? 190 degrees is as hot as most commercial kitchens require to cook their steaks etc This is easily availab...

can you keep the lid held up a few inches (mm's, Cm's etc) with a piece metal etc so the heat escapes slowly

Re: Thanks for Ad
Weber Family Q that I’ve owned for years but have only just started using. How good is it!!! Looking forward to tapping into the wealth of knowledge on this forum. Regards, Go to a reasonable butcher and ask for a 'hand sized piece of Porterhouse' to be cut at least an inch thick. (possibly 350 - 4...

Re: Which BBQ Rangehood?
cheers Mainey, are you saying the bigaussiedeals / Phoenix unit isn't effective at the club, potentially because of the install though? ive done the measurements in-situ here and it checks out per their recommendation, although take your point on lights - that was one of my concerns in comparison t...

Re: Which BBQ Rangehood?
I don't have one either but use one at a club I belong to :) What I have noticed with their 'smoke extractor' is it has been set up against the rear wall. A good place you would suggest - however the down lights are not shining on the BBQ plate/griddle and the smoke goes up in front of the 'extracto...

Re: baby Q burner blockage, sort of
Contact the supplier, tell them of the problem and ask their opinion as they may have had it happen be4. They may give you a contact number for a weber advise line :) Obviously it is old and has blockage inside the gas tube (obviously) but don't stuf around with it yourself unless advised by some-on...

Question
Have been watching ch 33 (food chanel) Thinking to myself, could you cook ribs etc, in a baby Weber, if you turned the temp down low, for a loooong period of time :?: I'm thinking to get the meat to fall off the bone, as some do in their smokers in the usa, obviously it would not have the smok...

Re: What BBQ to buy?
The Weber with the cream coloured top cooks 3 ways, it acts like an oven as well as cooking with direct heat from the gas pipe and also the heat retained in the thick / wide g riddle bars. Pick a Weber by the size of the cooking surface you need and take it home :) I think you get about 6 steaks on ...

Re: Newbie after advice
 Look at the size of the grill bars on the BBQ. Try and get them as close together as possible with thick (wide) grill bars to rest the steaks on. A good comparison is the weber v Ziegler & Brown. On the Z & B it looks like half the grill bars are missing and they are very thin in comp...

Re: Newbie with some build questions
 Make sure the range hood sits at least level with the front of the BBQ and can actually draw ALL the smoke away    I used a 6 x burner BBQ recently that was professionally built (bricks) and the range hood sat back covering only half the BBQ  Unfortunately, the extract...

Re: BBQ?
 Another vote for the Baby 'Q' :D It can easily cook 6 x thick , half kilo steaks  When I looked for a new BBQ to replace the aged 4 x burner, I went to BBQ Galore and seen their version of the 'Q' range, the Zeigler and Brown. When comparing the Baby 'Q' to a Zeigler and Brown, the g...
