Re: Brining - Does this negate all other flavourings?

I get your point re the can. It's just a cheap and easy way for me try a vertical orientation. If it works and I like it I'll go and buy one of the proper BCC stands. But my wife already thinks I've gone a little overboard after buying the weber with my chimney starter, meat thermometer, lid thermom...

Brining - Does this negate all other flavourings?

I recently did a Captain Cook's Brined chicken on my weber kettle, and it was quite tasty. I also recently had a rotisserie chook with a herbs de provence and oil baste/marinade on it, and it was delicious. So I'm going to try the herbes de provence and oil mix myself (using the Beer Can Chicken met...

Re: Beef Short Ribs - Snake?

Thanks Guys. I'll start earlier, as per your suggestions. Might skip the doona part or it'll be my ribs in the weber next.

Beef Short Ribs - Snake?

Hey guys, Newbie here. I've done a total of 2 roasts in my Weber kettle (only had it 2 weeks). Next up is Beef Short ribs. I'm thinking around 275F for 4 - 5 hours should do the trick. Does this sound about right? For a relatively short 'low and slow', would you advise using the snake method?

Re: Used weber - tips?

The compact ones are a lot shallower, and are not good for roasts.

Re: Used weber - tips?

Hi all I am very new here and have very much to learn! I'm very new here and have a lot to learn as well. I can't tell you much about what to look for with wear and tear etc., but as someone who just spent some time searching for a used weber this is what I can tell you: 1. Understand the differenc...

Re: Used weber - tips?

Thanks all for the advice. I managed to get 95 Weber (based on the letter code) for $10 on ebay. Starting bid was $10, and I was the first and only bidder. It's in reasonable condition. It's not a one touch, and for some reason it's got 2 ash catchers (the round plate plus the old twist style one), ...

Re: Used weber - tips?

Thanks Hogsy. I'd seen some of those before, but not the last one. I hadn't thought to search for 'webber' with 2 b's. You've just expanded my search and I've found a few more I like. I should be able to grab one over the weekend.

Re: Used weber - tips?

I was hoping to get one for less than $80, but they seem to be going for more than that. I always see a bargain somewhere I can't pick it up from though!

I'm in the Coburg area

Re: Used weber - tips?

Thanks Gumb. I'll keep an eye it. I've seen the one in Mill Park as well, and I'm interested if I can get it a little cheaper. I can also get this one for $100 if I pick it up today. but not sure I can get there. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kew-east/bbq/weber-kettle-57/1093446116 It looks in bett...

Used weber - tips?

Hey guys, Looking to get my first weber after tasting some pork cooked on a mates weber. Budget is $100 at the moment. I've been keeping an eye out on Gumtree and Ebay over the last few week. There are a few that look ok, but I'm not sure about the differences in some of them. I've worked out that I...
