No problem Ian I opened mine this morning had a lot of small bits from handling, I just used them in the chimney starter and where good size bits further down in the bag all good

Yes for the snake use beads by far better option, I have never had problem using this methods be patient at the start, and do not put the kettle lid on till you are going well, no rush I use two on bottom two on top and once I am happy they are going well lid on 250deg for the whole cook good luck

AS I said previously use your old cooking oil soak it in some paper towel it burns great, good for the environment cooking oil not going down the sink you already have it in kitchen so no extra cost for fire litters

maybe I am missing something here but could you not use a hickory liquid smoke for the hickory powder and play with the different sugars you can get for alternatives

I am not so sure its real yet no one has one, one has been around the world in transit, I was one of the first few to say they would give it a go but never got a invitation, me thinks its not happening
