Re: Newbie fails

Thanks for the vids - a good way to spend half an hour at work! It doesn't seem like I'm doing anything too dissimilar so I think I just need to keep trying. I notice in the first video it looks like the Kamado has some red/orange sealant around the top and bottom vents. Any idea what product this i...

Re: Looftlighter back in bunnings

For anyone in WA looking for the Looflighter, I went into Morley Bunnings today and bought two. They had about eight on the shelves on sale for $29. The Malaga store apparently has 19, but they're in 'top stock' which means they'd have to wait until after hours to get the forklift out to get them do...

It just seemed weird that the Kamado held temperature for about an hour and then when I walked away, i...

Newbie fails

G'day all, Had my Dragon Kamado a couple of weeks and haven't been particularly successful with it so far. I first tried for pork belly with crackling as per instructions on this forum. Ended up crispy and moist... however it was crispy (BURNT) on the bottom and moist and soggy... on the top! Fail! ...

Re: Akorn and Dragon Dome Temps

I also found this problem for two hours yesterday - Dragon gauge was reading ~140C whereas ET-733 was reading 200C. Might explain why my first pre-ET-733 cook was overcooked. Well that's my excuse anyway!

Re: Akorn and Dragon roll call

New Dragon owner (and new forum member) here. I met Chris from UrbanGriller yesterday and picked up a couple of thermometers and helpful hints so am ready to go!

And I'll admit that during assembly I frustratingly also put the legs with the axle holes the wrong way around...

Cheers
