Re: Hamburger patties on the Baby 'Q'
Can't be a pro straight up so it definitely takes practice. What sort of temp did you have the bbq at before putting the patties on? I personally like to get the grill nice and hot at about 200C then put my patties on and drop the heat to about 180C, drop the lid and leave until I see juices start c...

Re: Buying Weber Spirit E-310 or Family Q3200
I bought a Weber Family Q a bit over a year ago and I wish I was given one when I was born. IT'S BLOODY AWESOME. takes next to no time to heat up to 180 degrees. get a hotplate section to replace one of the grill sections and you'll be laughing. on my current setup i do - Steak, Roast (with double g...

Re: Marinated Lamb Ribs
My local butcher does texas bbq marinated lamb ribs and they are just FREAKING DELICIOUS!! I put them on my weber Q hotpate for a few minutes, then in a tray wrapped in foil and in the oven at 140 for at least an hour and a half if not more. They're easy to eat, tender and flavoursome. I might give ...

Re: Weber Spirit Roast - To rack or not to rack?
Yeah as Darth said, Use alfoil with holes in it with a trivet on top. helps prevent burning of the meat on the bottom. Below is a pic with a roasting tray but you can do the same thing with a couple of sheets of alfoil with a line of holes around the edges and down the middle. http://i.imgur.com/RzF...

Cantonese Roast Duck, Kai Lan, Snow Peas and egg noodles in a duck broth gravy. It was fabulous! The Kamado is such an excellent tool for so many things but Canton duck is one of my favourites, and the broth flavoured with fresh garlic, shallots, ginger and soy with some duck "juice" was ...

Re: What Did You Cook Part 11 - January 1 2015
So last night I cooked up some hickory rump steaks that I got from my local butcher. Cooked on the family Q at about 180c. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm162/mckimms/Mobile%20Uploads/20151124_173841_zpselyqvifh.jpg Took off and rested when I had that little tingle in my body that they were rea...

Re: Weber Q control setting
If i can remember correctly from roasts i've done, I put the outer ring on high and set up a trivet sitting on alfoil with some holes in it. I put my meat on the trivet once the temp gets to about 200c. Turn the nob back to about halfway. I like to cook my beef for about 3 hours at 160-170c (dependi...
