Re: Stronger smoke flavour

Hi Mate,

A lot of the pellet grill owners run an Amazen tube smoker for more smoke:
http://www.amazenproducts.com/product_p/amnts.htm

It works quite well because of the combustion fan inside the GMG helps provide airflow inside that keeps the pellets smouldering and produce constant smoke.

Re: Looking for new wireless thermometer

I currently own the Maverick 733 and to be honest i think its pretty good. Never had any issues with it. I probably wouldn't get the 735 as it is Bluetooth and from what Ive read the range can be quite shit on it. Do i need another wireless thermometer? Probably not. But if my maverick ever breaks d...

Re: Looking for new wireless thermometer

I would hold off on getting a Maverick. Thermoworks just released their new product which competes directly with the Maverick: http://www.thermoworks.com/Smoke Initial reviews/comments seem positive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv7lgoUa75w I own a Maverick and have not had any issues with it, bu...

Re: So... This happened yesterday

Paid 775 for the big joe. Which I guess is still alot of money, but I feel was an incredible price for the big joe in this condition. My guess is alot of people get suckered into buying these but end up preferring the "convenience" of gassers.

Re: Gas BBQ you can smoke in and grill?

I may be wrong but my understanding is that when smoking, the aim is to have good airflow. Hence most smokers you see have a smoke stack. You don't want the chamber to be completely air tight. Smoke needs to flow through the food and out. Of course if your smoker/bbq has a smoke stack, you dont want...

Re: New Australian BBQ Wood Pellets - Have your Say!

Pellet prices seem quite high at the moment at roughly $40/12kg. For me, id buy your product depending on the price.
Flavours arn't really a priority for me, standard flavours like Hickory, etc all work well.

Just picked up this bad boy

Hey Guys, Long time lurker of the Kamado section. I recently last year joined the Pellet Grill club with a GMG DB. But didn't like the fact that pellet grills suck at grilling... Found this bad boy Primo Jr and table for $300. Came with deflector plates and holders, divider and 1 extended rack. No c...

Re: GMG any good?

I bought mine from Don over facebook/paypal. Ended up costing 85USD including shipping.

Can i ask what firebox shield you got with your DB? The newer models have a one-piece stainless steel box.
Older models, like mine have a 3 piece steel version.

Re: GMG any good?

So far, I've been generally happy with it. The DB is big enough for me. When deciding to buy it, i thought i wanted the JB but looking at it in person, it seemed way to big for my needs. I got mine last year so it came with the 2-piece stainless steel drip pan and the wifi version. I'll list the thi...
