Cooking oil
I've been cooking on a gas burner and on a Weber Q200 using olive oil. I remember someone on the forum saying olive oil is not necessarily the best oil to use on a BBQ. Couldn't find the post. Bought some grape-seed oil because it is in a glass bottle not plastic. Is grape-seed oil suitable for BBQ ...

Cooking with aluminium

Re: Breakfast plate problem
Hi Titch and Davo, Yes, it's for the Q series, Weber® Q™ Breakfast Plate (Q200/2000/300/3000 series) It's cast iron and happily rusting away unless I keep it oiled I did contact Weber custumer service, this is their reply: "Thank you for taking the time to contact us. I am sorry to hear you hav...

Breakfast plate problem
The enamel paint is flaking off my Weber Breakfast Plate, it's about two years old It’s only the flat side that is affected the ridged side is as good as new We've put it in the dishwasher a few times but that shouldn't be the cause as we've been doing the same with our Aldi baked enamel casserole d...

Hi mrjack, I use an old Weber Q200 and often cook for six or seven on it without being stressed I've never had a need for a built in thermostat and with your experience cooking on a Weber I doubt if you need one either My brother has an enormous stainless steel BBQ but usually cooks on his Baby Q ev...

I often do roast chicken and vegetables in a cast iron casserole dish in the Weber Q200 Bought the enamelled casserole dish from Aldi, they're available again now for $25- The chicken is usually a split chicken that is already marinated in a choice of spices (peri peri is very hot) Enough to feed fo...

Re: BBQ liners
I use an 'Urban Kitchen' BBQ liner on the Weber Q200, directly on the grill Keeps the Weber clean Are these safe to use in the Weber on high heat ? They are made out of teflon and depending on which brand you use they will be safe up to a certain temp. I don't use them. Aiming to keep the bbq clean...

Re: Seasoning new Weber Q grills
Cleaning after cooking is a no no. Weber now advise to leave the gunk on after cooking and give the grill a light wire brush next time you use it, once it's hot. I never put water near the grill though, just a wire brush and a spray of oil before cooking. I'll do that from now on, I wasn't comforta...

I over cleaned the lid on my Weber Q200 Bought the Q200 from the wife's brother, it was very dirty, so cleaned inside and out very thoroughly, so much so that the paint on the lid has worn through in places Have a can of black spray paint that is used for brake calipers, designed to cope with high h...
