Re: Rotisserie Chicken

Its actually not too bad, I am conscious of the smoke and usually only cook when there is a slight breeze to take the smoke away. When doing ribs or anything else low n slow I usually start early and the smoke is gone by the time the neighbours are up. Of course, sharing is caring so I make sure the...

Rotisserie Chicken

Hi Guys, just wanted to share with you all some pics of a rotisserie chook I cooked on my Dragon Kamado. Yes, you read that right, it was cooked on my dragon..... I saw on a fb post that someone reckoned that the classic sized joetisserie fits in a dragon. The post had no cook pics and only a couple...

Re: What surface do you use to start your chimney?

You could use a fire brick, a quick google search came up with a 300x300x50 refractory floor tile rated to 1500 degrees for $15.

Re: The Captain's Brined Roast Chicken

Looks really good.
I use the Captain's brine recipe too and find it makes a huge difference to the end result.
Usually I cook mine in the dragon with a vertical hanger and just a small chunck of cherry wood for added flavour.
Like you Davo, I struggle to get pics as I want to tuck in as soon a I can.

Heh yeah, lamb shanks were a prime example.
Used to be sold as dog tucker, now just as costly as a steak

Re: Does anyone have any thoughts on this BBQ store.

In my opinion it looks dodgy. The fact there is no direct contact information and only an email address sends a red flag up straight away.
I'm happy to be proved wrong, but you wouldn't catch me shopping there.

Re: Inkbird IBT-2X thermometer

Cheers Toastie, I think I will push the go button on one of these once they restock the 2 probe ones they had for sale. Currently I am using a Maverick ET-7 which is great and performs well, but I want to be able to look at the temp ranges in more details with the graphing feature and the price just...

Re: Weber Baby Q frame MELTS to the ground

Wow Mainey, so lucky to not have caused a major fire that could have damaged your home or put your family at risk. I'm glad that the damage was limited to your que and maybe a bit of your pride but nothing too serious overall. I have a Ziggy 2 burner and absolutely love it. The option of having both...

Re: My Moving dilemma

Hey Davo, Not meaning to refresh an old thread but I'm sure I read in one of your recent posts that you might have to move into a unit or apartment soon. I live in a unit block in Sydney on the ground floor with 2 other levels above me and 3 blocks in the same complex. 30 units in total. Like you, I...

Re: Deflector/firebowl gap

Hi Punter, I have a Kamado Dragon which is a steel version of the Kamado grill. The gap around the circumference of my deflector to the fire bowl is approximately 2 1/2 inches. It is big enough to cover the size of the drip trays that I use so they are not exposed to the direct heat of the coals The...
