Re: Can I buy a wooden BBQ cart?
I've had so many people ask me to prototype a clip on kettle table (I'm an ex cabinet maker) the past few months! I might actually have to look into getting one done soon. Could use connection bolts and threaded inserts and offer them as a kit ala ikea style to make shipping easier, thoughts?

First attempt at the reverse sear method
When my sister rocked up with 2 pieces ($70 worth!) of Wagyu and you try a new cooking method, what could go wrong? As it turns out, nothing! 50 minutes in the oven at 120C then rested for 10ish minutes, then 45 seconds a side with the grill up as hot as I could get it. Tasted pretty damn good.

Re: Gasmate pizza oven query.
Where abouts at the top? Like where it meets the main body? No. The door is double skinned so to speak and is open around the top so you could drop something between the inner and outer skins if that is what you meant?

Re: Gasmate for slow cooking
Ok, got my readings done last night. Started the oven from cold as to not have any false readings by starting it up at high temp. Probably not what you want to hear, but at the lowest setting the oven maintained 155C at the lowest setting measured with a digital probe thermometer.

Re: Gasmate for slow cooking
According to the temp gauge on mine, I've had it sitting at around 120C. I wasn't trying for low n slow, just needed to finish a few things off that wouldn't fit in the oven in the kitchen a few months back. Whether you trust the temp gauge or not is the question... I can tell you that there are 3 q...

I'm kicking myself for throwing away dad's old red weber when I was younger! If only I knew how easy they are to restore vs $300 on a new one...

Well my Saturday night consisted of grilling some veggies http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/sox82/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150628_54839_zps2yhfkolq.jpg Blizted it into a salsa http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p89/sox82/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150628_5575_zpsbc9a6sg2.jpg Then used it to top some ...

Picked up a Looftlighter at Bunnings Modbury this morning for $29. They have about 50ish left on a stack infront of the shelves of the bbq accessories section.

Re: Currently what is the best builtin option under $2K
(not convinced on the Radiant Quartz burners) A mate of mine bought the top model 4 burner grand turbo about a year ago. I can tell you that on full whack, it's like a cooking grate sitting 6"above the sun. The heat those things throw out is crazy. The manual states for cleaning the BBQ to clo...

Re: Gas Bottle Storage
Far out, I've had 1 bottle on the bbq and another on the pizza oven for years. My father inlaw runs a bbq and 3 heaters on his huge patio, each with separate bottles. I hope no one calls the feds!

Yes, I put the cheese on the burger for about 30 seconds before I pulled them off the BBQ.

Re: What Did You Cook Part 11 - January 1 2015
Well my 2 day old family Q just racked up its 4th cook last night! I got told my choice for dinner last night, been hanging for a decent pub burger so I thought I'd make my own. Picked up some mince on the way home, threw in some fresh bread crumbs, egg, parmesan, seeded mustard and some chopped par...
