Re: How to Cut St. Louis Style Spare Ribs

I've been buying ribs from Meat Emporium for a couple of years now. I've seen proper St Louis cut cryovac spares there on sold as belly ribs on and off across that time. Alternatively nowadays as per this guide, I buy the full plates and ask for them to be cut down accordingly. Takes a little while ...

Re: Recently imported a FireMagic 790i - what a grill :)

Awsome, Do an experiment and try a reverse sear on it. really low and indirect for an hour or so then flash sear. I'm Totaly converted to this method. A recient test I did with rib eyes off the same cut totally changed my ways. I'm aware of the reverse sear from my absolute fav US BBQ site, Amazing...

Re: Recently imported a FireMagic 790i - what a grill :)

Finally some pics. I completely forgot to take some snaps of my first steak session the other week. Kind of happens when you have guests over and are focused on entertaining. So last weekend I grabbed some lovely grain fed ribeyes of the Rangers Valley variety. I've got to say I truly love the seari...

Re: Recently imported a FireMagic 790i - what a grill :)

Thanks Davo and others for the mention of AGA certification. In my other visits here reading import threads that industry body has never been mentioned. I don't want to sound like a dick, but seriously with the US build quality from a company making BBQ's for over 75 years, would you think that suc...

Re: Hi From Sydney

Hi Cuelove, that's strange. I've never been auto logged out, even when I've left my PC for quite a while. Very odd. Anyway, I look forward to your take on tha lovely looking BBQ. If you wish to post pictures with it (I hope so as I'd love to see it in action) this is the step by step guide on how t...

Re: Recently imported a FireMagic 790i - what a grill :)

Hi Cueluv.... Nice unit...never seen this brand before, was just wondering if it was a self import or you bought it retail here? As Captain asked is about the AGA rating ....he is very strong about this and rightly so coz he would hate to think if something went wrong, and it wasn't Australian appr...

Re: Hi From Sydney

Hi,looking forward to your review, looks like a pretty nice bit of gear. Thanks mate. I just spent an hour on writing it and lost it through auto-log out function. Such an archaic forum feature that hasn't caught me out for years now as most sites don't do it any more as too many people lose what t...

Recently imported a FireMagic 790i - what a grill :)

Hi Guys, first off want to say I've been in and out of the forums on occasion searching for info and thought it was time I joined in as a avid BBQ and smoker enthusiast :). As a bit of background, I've had several gas BBQ's over the years ranging from enamel beefeaters that have rusted out to more r...

Hi From Sydney

Hey guys, I've used the forums to scan for info on esoteric BBQ subjects like where to source St. Louis cut ribs at various times in the past (not always to the greatest success though - just did my own investigations most times) or say gas grill importation, etc. I thought as I have had a lot of ye...
