Re: Countdown to the end of the forum
Gday There are a lot of forums that aren’t with us any more. I read a lot that I didn’t contribute much to and a lot of them sunk without a trace. Seems the days of the forums are passing sadly. Seems too we get a lot of single one time posters too. Ask a single question and leave. I suppose they ha...

Re: Countdown to the end of the forum
Gday The oldest aussiecue forum is still on pro boards. It was not used and was getting spam. I got rid of my log in because of that. Someone I’m saying proboards has got rid of the spam and the forum now read only no way of joining but with adds. So I recon the adds pay to preserve the content. Wou...

I recon Davo could supply a simple drawing of that parts. A few dimensions and I recon you could have one made by a sheet metal worker.

G’day
That’s a real shame especially with the footy finals weekend but things get worn and you’ve had it now for a few years. Have you approached BBQ Galore yet as it’s thier brand bbq. I’m sure they’ll have the parts and the Tec assistance.

Re: 10 years ago
G’day I was just a new member of the forum then and it was a bit confusing with members suddenly disappearing and yanking thier content. ( it’s my bat and ball and I’m going home! ). I was more than a bit confused and had no idea of the politics and frankly didn’t care …. I was here to BBQ. All the ...

Re: Wood only fueled kettle or other Q
G’day Back in the day all I had was wood fueled bbq. Built a few brick wood fired bbq for myself and friends. You have to wait for the fire to die down to coals it’s not good trying to bbq over flaming sticks it just doesn’t work. With Weber kettles running on charcoal beads and gas bbq becoming com...
Re: New BBQ
G’day Yes I read the beefeater reviews. And….. I read the reviews on the Weber Q. Both had some pretty scathing remarks. The one theme they both shared was they bought an expensive product and were expected to put it together and it would instantly make them better cooks. Well it doesn’t give you be...

Re: Hello from Newcastle and pork ribs questions.
G’day You’ll find it doesn’t taste like Mexican at all once cooked. Like all spices they mellow with time and heat that’s why you have some over the top rubs cause they have to survive the cooking. I like the fijita again because it lower in sugar and salt than I lot of the rubs you can buy. The oth...

Re: Hello from Newcastle and pork ribs questions.
G’day I cook the ribs at 135 to 150 C the higher end of the smoking range. Cover the ribs with a thin coat of oil then press on a packet of Mexican fijita seasoning. Hasn’t got a lot of sugar like a lot of bbq rubs and doesn’t taste like Mexican when cooked a general rub that comes in small amounts....

Re: Do You have your eye on a new BBQ for 2023?
G’day guys Merry Christmas all…… Well as we slide into 2023 I have a couple of bbq I have to learn. An Akorn junior which I’ve had for a few months now. Big big learning curve, but well worth it. Great food from low and slow to pizza! And fugal! Stuff out the charcoal from one cook and relight for t...
