G’day
Now that I’ve seen a pic..... that type of bbq is the workhorse of the local kids footy club. Got to have a flat plate for Snags. But now that I think about it they cooked a bit of chicken as well.....least my kids club did.

Re: water pan ??
G’day My first smoker was a home made mini WSM. A lot of these type makes used a large ceramic pot plant base as a moderator/ heat bank instead of water bowl. Reason being with no lower door it was hard to refill the water bowl. Tried this but not pleased with the results. Forever spritzing to get t...

Re: Spit Rod Bushing
G’day Yes I think I know what you need. You have the square bar that fits into the motor. Then at the other end a movable piece that goes up against the bar support. You fit it up then using by tightening the screw it then holds the bar from moving. I can’t post a pic here and I’m unable at this tim...

Re: Help with Weber Q200 and Roasts
G’day If you only taking it to 68C that’s med rare the pic reflects that. Pink but not rare Try taking it to 75 to 78C which is well done but still juice. Go any higher say 85C and it’s pretty grey and grainy. I usually put it on a warm plate cover it with foil and wrap in a towel and rest for 1/2 h...

Re: Temperature Control
G’day Temp drop on long cooks is often caused by the build up of ash around each bead letting less and less oxygen in for combustion. Result temperature drop. To remove the ash gently without resorting to opening up the bullet smoker.....or taking the lid of the kettle. Close the the top vents compl...

Re: Weber Wooden Handles
G'day Yes definitly I made it. It's a left over scrap piece of Tasmanian oak that I used to make the dados on a kitchen pantry cupboard. Was shaped by eye on a 100 year old heel and sole sanding machine. As I said you'll find the telephone no of the bloke who Lazer engraver the logo on you personal ...

Re: Weber Wooden Handles
G'day The handle was part of the tart up I gave the Q 200 a few years ago. The black paint is new too. If you have one of the older handles you could do an insert like this as it screws in from the back. Newer ones are shaped with no hollow you would have to make a whole new handle. Still it's doabl...

Re: Air Fryer
G'day Another fan of the airfryer. Frozen chips are pre cooked and oiled. I think the airfryer cooks them better than any oven. The results are just the same as from a deep fat fryer. But, fresh cut chips oiled and cooked in the airfryer are diferent. I really prefer them to frozen chips. They have ...

Painting a Weber Q
G'day Being only a km off Morten Bay in Brisbane I got some corrosion starting on my Weber Q. The Q are powder coated so I decieded to strip it and repaint. You really need a strip back as paint will not stick to powder coat. I used paint stripper but you could get it sand blasted. Follow the instru...
