Re: Ziegler and Brown Twin Grill
Thanks Narmnaleg. The red of the Jarah suits the Ziggy. Another thing I should mention is that when I purchased the Ziggy + extra plate from BBQ Galore, I asked what the best price was for cash and was given $20 off. Not a lot but it’s still some free beer. :D Also, I keep hearing about the great We...

Re: Ziegler and Brown Twin Grill
And the wheels are a pair of diecast wheels from a 50 year old Pope push hand mower. Waste not, want not.

Re: Ziegler and Brown Twin Grill
After a few weeks using the Ziggy sitting on a couple of saw horses, I got around to knocking up a table for it. I can't stand throwing stuff out, so whenever I have some project at home I usually accumulate a bunch of offcuts and various bits and pieces. But this time I was able to use just about e...

Re: Ziegler and Brown Twin Grill
Well I finally decided some weeks ago to go for a Ziggy. It was right for my circumstances and now after a few cook ups I know that it was the best best choice....for me. I grabbed a half plate for it too. I only have a small family...the missus and a teenage daughter. But the daughter only eats veg...

Re: Buying a bbq tomorrow - still deciding Bugg or Q220
Thanks Davo. The 3200 just seemed too big for the three of us.....but you've got me thinking now. It certainly ticks all the other boxes....I'll have to go visit the store and have a good cogitate.

Re: Buying a bbq tomorrow - still deciding Bugg or Q220
Thanks Gumb for getting back to me. You are really temping me to go for the Q2200. I think I'll take another look at them and mull over it some more. We are also a family of 3 and often bbq for 5 when my daughters mate and dad drop in. My daughters a .....gasp horrr....a vegetarian. (where did I go ...

Re: Buying a bbq tomorrow - still deciding Bugg or Q220
Just answered my own question. Both models put out 12.7Mj.
I 'spose I could go for the familyQ....but it is way too big for our family of 3.

Re: Buying a bbq tomorrow - still deciding Bugg or Q220
Yes, that's right Gumb. Been pouring over all the threads re Ziggy, Bugg and Weber Q. I know it's impossible, but I really 'want it all'. My ideal would be a Weber Q2200AU, with separate left and right burners and a bit more heat output. And I'd like to have a grill on one side and optionally a plat...

Re: Buying a bbq tomorrow - still deciding Bugg or Q220
Swinging towards the Bugg. Have found a dealer who sells both and has demo models of both. Offered to cook a steak for me tomorrow to demonstrate. Will just be nice to see both operate and then decide though I suspect I'll be coming home with a Bugg.... And all the villagers rejoiced for there woul...

Re: Ziegler and Brown Twin Grill
Shame....although I'm not suprised. I wonder if it is possible to reduce the number of active holes in one of the burners? If there was some way to reduce the number of holes by say 20%, then maybe you'd be able to 'go low'. Perhaps by covering with a strip of thick foil (SS ?) held on by a couple o...

Re: Ziegler and Brown Twin Grill
Hi there Gatsby. Did you end up getting a reduced size jet to enable lower temps in your Ziggy?Gatsby wrote: I have an open issue with BBQG about the temp so just waiting on a fix - they are having a smaller jet made - just takes time.

Steak AND onions on a Weber Q 2200 (or 220)?
Gearing up to purchase a new barbie very soon. The Q2200 appeals to me for various reasons, however I have one reservation that may push me to a Bugg or Z&G. I like to cook T-Bones med rare so I figure that I’d crank up the Q and get it as hot as it gets, bung in the steaks at 3 mins or so a sid...
