I have not calibrated anything, did not know I could. I will boil up some water and test the two, the probe and the dome. How do you calibrate the dome temp, just start at less than zero or something?
Thanks

Temperature - which one
Hi all I own a Primo XL and am having a few issues with temperature and cooking time. I have both a thermometer in the hood as well as a digital temperature probe, which has two probes, one for the meat and the second for the grill. The difference between the hood thermometer and the grill temperatu...

Re: Grand Fire BBQ
I needed a BBQ with a big grill and also a big plate, a large plate almost solely for breakfast, as I was building an outdoor kitchen, the option of two separate BBQ's was really not an option in the limited space I had. The IR burners in the states look a little different to the BBQ Galour Turbo on...

Re: Beefeater Signature SL vs Weber Summit E-670
I would consider the summit over the Beafeater. The Summit offers a nice rorisery option, a smoker and an extra burner for searing, and is enamel, much easier to clean. The Beafeater, although a fine BBQ offers those antique burners that Cook very hot at the back and got so hot up front, but offers ...

Re: Does food really stick badly to an SS plate?
Food does stick more to SS than other metals, and yes, I am told that SS does not conduct heat as well as other metals, but there are a few things you can do. Companies like Topnotch make their SS hot plates from a different grade of SS, which conducts heat better, you can use a paper or film, but I...

Re: Grand Fire BBQ
I have the 42" Grandfire, have owned it for about 15 months, moved from a Weber Summit.. it is definetily a copy of the Lynx, just half the price. It is a very hot BBQ, took me a while to get use to it, especially coming from a low heat webber. I love this BBQ, and the ceremic heat tamers are g...

Re: Sounding board...advice wanted
Take a look at the Primo oval XL. It's the same width as a big joe, with the same debth as a standard Joe. I was in the same boat a few months ago, upgrading from the weber kettle which I also thought was a bit small.
Worth a look

Re: About to pull the trigger on a Kamado Joe
If you cannot decide between the standard Joe and big Joe, have a look at the Primo Oval. It's the perfect fit between the two. I was in the same boat earlier this year, and the Primo was he perfect fit. It's as wide as the big Joe, but only as deep as the standard Joe.

Re: Need your advice on purchase
Hi Ryno 5 years ago I was not a BBQ addict either however I was talked into a Weber Summit, best thing ever. I bought the Summit and the Kettle and have since learnt the art of BBQ ING . I have now upgraded the Weber to a Kama do. Discover lid down cooking and you will not look back. Hi Smokey, i do...

Re: Need your advice on purchase
Hi smokey Mick, i am looking good for something similar, a hooded BBQ that you can use 2 × plates. I have found that Lifestyle BBQ and Grandfire offer you that option, but mainly on their larger 5 burner models. You can also do it on a Weber Summit 6 burner, 2/3 plate and 1/3 grill

Re: Thoughts on Grand Fire BBQ's
Thanks Davo I probably have the room for an additional BBQ, but I think it would look a lot neater and more professional if I just had the one BBQ, this is the main reason I am looking to swap. One large Kamado, 1 x large Gas BBQ, and one decent sized separate side burner would go just nice. I have ...

Re: Thoughts on Grand Fire BBQ's
The burners are large U shaped burners, so the 42" BBQ, which is similar width as most 5 burner BBQ's of about 1000mm has 3 x 26,000 BTU burners. I am told that these U shaped burners are common in the USA. Only a 2 Burner Chris.....did it look as though it was hot enough? Must be throwing out ...

Thoughts on Grand Fire BBQ's
Hi all. What are you thoughts on the Grand Fire BBQ's. I currently own a Weber Summit 420, but recently purchased a Kamado, so now do most of my grilling on the Kamado. I luv the Weber, but am really looking for something with more plate for cooking breakfasts etc. I am about to build a built in BBQ...

Re: Thoughts on Weber Summit E660
The Weber Summit are great BBQ's. I went to buy a Beafeater, but several stores talked me into a Weber, and I am glad they did. The Weber has taught me how to cook, and I really enjoy my cooking to a point that I have just added a Kamado cooker to the fleet. The lid down lower temp cooking method is...
